Alabaster

A real cannabis flower, photographed from every angle on a turntable and rebuilt as a Gaussian splat of 95,295 points, packaged as a TouchDesigner component that listens to your audio. What you are spinning above is the actual asset, streamed at full density, not a preview render of it.

What makes this capture different

Measured against the rest of the catalog, Alabaster is almost perfectly isotropic, a round dense bud rather than a spear, and the only one that holds its silhouette while spinning. Its bounding volume is 1.19 by 1.31 by 1.26, with a crown-to-base girth ratio of 1.13. That shape is worth knowing before you buy: tightly tapered captures cut dramatic silhouettes against a dark stage, while rounder ones hold their mass from every camera angle.

What you get

Parameters

Zoom, Zoomreact, Spinspeed, Audiopulse, Tiltx and Tiltz sit on the component's front panel. A three-band audio split reads your default system input and the low band drives the pulse. The output is a TOP on the back of the component, so it drops straight into a larger composition.

Requirements

TouchDesigner 2025.32820 or newer, because native Gaussian splat rendering was added in that build and earlier versions will not open the component. The free non-commercial tier runs everything here. This is a .tox and does not load in Resolume, Notch or Max, and there is no OSC layer in this version. Driving it from music playing on your computer needs a loopback device on Windows, the same as any other TouchDesigner audio patch.
